Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Branch of Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against K Devadas Menon and Sudhaka Hari Haran, both accounts assistants in the office of FA&CAO, South Central Railway, Secunderabad for allegedly demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 2,000 from the complainant for issuing appointment orders for the post of Park Attender.
In a pressnote here, the Superintendent of Police, CBI (ACB) Hyderabad, has stated that a case was registered against the accused on June 23 under Section 120-B and Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He stated that following the complaint, a trap was laid and the principal accused K. Devadas Menon was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification of Rs 2,000 from the physically handicapped complainant. The accused had already accepted Rs 1.2 lakhs from the complainant.
