Hyderabad: The United Andhra Pradesh agitation is not having peoples’ backing, but it was created by some Seemandhra capitalists who were keen on stalling the creation of separate Telangana State, asserted Mr K T Rama Rao, TRS legislator from Sircilla in Karimnagar district.

Speaking to the media persons here today, Mr Rama Rao said that the people of Telangana were fighting for separate State, and any proposals like creation of separate Board or a Council for the region or some packages were not acceptable for them. Separate Telangana should be formed and the packages could be given to Seemandhra, he said.

He also suggested to the Congress High Command to hold discussions with the Seemandra leader and convince them in favour of separate Telangana state.

The TRS leader said a decision on Telangana brooked no daley in the name of discussions. He said that the propaganda that something would happen if President’s rule was imposed in the State, was not correct.

Mr Rama Rao thanked all the sections that are supporting the Telangana bandh. He demanded the immediate release of the Telangana JAC leader Prof Kodandaram who was arrested while he was proceeding to the Osmania University here this morning.
