Hyderabad: The drivers and conductors of the Uppal Bus Depot of APSRTC, here on Saturday resorted to flash strike in protest against the “inaction” of the higher police officials against the Sub-Inspector, Mr Sudarshan, who allegedly thrashed and humiliated an RTC bus driver, Mr Ravindra Reddy, without any reason.

With the APSRTC crew resorting to direct action, bus services from the Uppal Bus depot came to an abrupt standstill and this in turn put severe hardships to passengers.

In this incident, the Sub-Inspector of Police, Mr Sudarshan, reported to have indiscriminately beat up and even compelled Mr Ravindra Reddy to rub his nose on the floor in front of all his colleagues under the pretext that he did not give way to a police vehicle. Later, Mr Ravindra Reddy, while crying said that the SI had assaulted him though there was no mistake on his part.

Tasking serious view of the humiliation meted out to their colleague, the RTC personnel complained to the Circle Inspector. As there was no response from the higher officials, they staged demonstration. (NSS)
