Hyderabad, Feb.18 (NSS): The parents of Varalakshmi, a B. Tech. student who committed suicide recently, met the former Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, at his hunger strike venue at the Indira Park here on Friday.
The girl had committed suicide as she was unable to bear the harassment of the college management for fee. Though she was at no fault as it was the government which had to reimburse her fee, she was allegedly harassed by the management of her college.
Mr Jagan, who launched his week-long hunger strike on fee reimbursement issue, has named the venue of his fast camp as Varalakshmi Pranganam after deceased student. The parents of the girl hugged Mr Jagan and wept uncontrollably. They urged him to ensure that the fate of her daughter should not befall on any other student in the State. (NSS)
