Hyderabad: Senior BJP leader Mr. M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party led National Democratic Alliance was gaining popularity across the country and would soon return to power.

Speaking to media on the occasion of celebration of Raksha Bandhan at BJP City Office at Barkatpura here on Saturday, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress-led UPA government at the centre was completely immersed in the corruption and scams. Describing Dr. Manmohan Singh as “unfit”, he said “he was a blot” for the post of the Prime Minister. He said a recent survey has revealed that the general people think that Dr. Singh was a ‘weak’ Prime Minister.

The BJP leader hoped that the NDA will be voted to power in the next elections. He was highly critical about the State Government for its failure to address the problems of farmers in the state. He said despite announcing a crop-holiday, the state government has failed to come out with a clear-cut policy for farmers which forced them into further distress.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said there was no administration in the state, as the ruling party is divided into two groups. Instead of focussing on public issues, they are indulging in criticising each other for political and monetary gains, he said.

Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreyya, state-unit president G.Kishen Reddy and former MLAs Dr. K.Laxman and K.Indrasena Reddy were also present. (INN)
