Veteran leader Guruva Reddy’s death condoled

Hyderabad: The demise of veteran communist leader and former MLA Mr A Guruva Reddy, who took a leading role in the Telangana armed struggle, has been condoled by the Telangana Rachayitha Vedika, prominent educationst Dr Chukka Ramaiah and others.

Mr Guruva Reddy (99) passed away at NIMS here on Monday.

Mr Chukka Ramaiah, MLC, said in a condolence message from USA, that Guruva Reddy, who was a Maths Professor in City College, had quit his post, plunged into the Telangana armed struggle and dedicated life for liberation of Telangana. He had later played a prominent role in starting the Degree college at Siddipet. Guruva Reddy was always feeling about the injustices done to Telangana region, he added.

Mr Jooluri Gourishankar, General Secretary, Telangana Rachayithala Vedika, said that death of Guruva Reddy was a great loss to Telangana. Guruva Reddy had dedicated his life to the people and lived up to certain principles and values, he added.
