Hyderabad: The senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member, Mr V Hanumantha Rao, has said that the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, has to close down his ‘Dukan’ the moment the Centre conceded separate Telangana State. He also branded the Telangana Political JAC convenor, Prof. Kodandaram, as a mouthpeace of the TRS supremo. He also made it clear that the Telangana Congress leaders would not be scared at the deadlines set by the Political JAC. He also opposed the TRS tactics to obstruct the Telugu Desam party’s ‘Ranabheri’ meetings meant for Telangana.
Speaking to the media at his residence here on Sunday, Mr Hanumantha Rao demanded that the Centre make public the VIII chapter of the Justice Srikrishna Committee report immediately. Showing a copy of the VIII chapter whose contents were downloaded from the Decaan Post website, the Rajya Sabha member said that it was not proper to the Centre to appoint the Justice Srikrishna Committee while announcing a statement on December 9, 2009 on Telangana issue.
Condemning the Committee’s VIII chapter, the senior Telangana Congress leader demanded that the Centre make it public immediately to facilitate the people to know the real facts. Alleging that the Srikrishna Committee prepared the VIII chapter to suppress the Telangana movement, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that there were serious objectionable allegations on ‘Political Management’ and ‘Media Management’. He demanded that the Centre clear the confusion among the people on the VIII chapter by revealing its contents.
Stating that it was good for Telangana leaders if the Union Petroleum Minister, Mr S Jaipal Reddy, attended the proposed June 15 meeting with the Union Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherji, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that it was not proper to Mr Jaipal Reddy to speak differently on the Telangana issue. He said that Mr Jaipal Reddy had earlier said that the December 9, 2009 announcement on Telangana issue was just because of him but now he was changing his tune on the burning issue. He also said that he would ask Mr Pranab Mukharjee whether the content published in Deccan Post was correct or not.
Making it clear that the Telangana Congress leaders have no intension to resign from their posts to threaten the Centre and exert pressure on Telangana issue, he said that the leaders would achieve Telangana by adopting convincing methods. He said that no Congress leader would accompany Mr KCR if the Centre conceded Telangana and the latter has to close down his ‘Dukunam’ (shop) if separate State was carved out by the Centre.
Mr Rao said that he has not attended Mr Botcha Sathyanarayana’s oath taking ceremony as PCC Chief only because he was pre-occupied with some other work in Delhi. Supporting the Karimnagar MP, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar’s statement that the Telangana leaders wanted only Telangana but not positions and that the high command was appointing Seemandhra leaders in key positions to concede Telangana State, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that even the people of the region were having the same feeling. He said that Seemandhra intellectuals and common people were ready for de-merger of the State but only some leaders were obstructing the process of creation of Telangana with a single point agenda.
Urging the Seemandhra leaders not to obstruct the process of creation of separate Telangana State, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that it was good for the people of both regions get separated as own brothers.
