Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party senior leader T Devender Goud on Sunday accused the YSR’s widow and Pulivendula MLA Vijaya Lakshmi of trying to divert public attention from the CBI investigations into the alleged illegal wealth amassed by his son and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Commenting on the letter written by the YSR’s widow to the prime minister describing the CBI raids as political vendetta, Devender Goud said Vijayamma was trying to convince the Prime Minister to free Jagan of all charges of corruption, as it was done in the case of PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, whose name figured in Volkswagen scam and former chief minister K Rosaiah against whom ACB probed in Ameerpet land case.
If Congress president Sonia Gandhi would have offered chief minister’s post to Jagan immediately after the demise of YSR, then the family wouldn’t have spoken in this tone, he said.
Asking as to why Jagan was afraid of CBI probe if he has not committed any corruption, he said Jagan’s image would improve among the people if he comes clean from such corruption allegations.
Goud also demanded probe against former government advisor KVP Ramachandra rao, Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political advisor Ahmed Patel, Sakshi Group Vice-Chairman Vijaya Sai Reddy, YSR party official spokesman Ambati Rambabu and Vijayawada MP Lagadapati’s brother Lagadapati Sridhar for their involvement in corruption during the stint of former chief minister YSR.
