Hyderabad, Feb.3 (NSS): The senior Congress leader, Mr Vuppunuthala Purushottam Reddy, on Thursday justified the comments of the CWC member, Mr G Venkatswamy that Telangana State would not be a reality owing to the Congress party’s proposed alliance with the Praja Rajyam Party.
Mr Reddy said that forging an alliance by the Congress party with the Praja Rajyam Party means that separate Telangana State demand would be shelved. But, he fount fault with the remarks of Mr Venkatswamy against the leadership of the Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi. He also said that Mr Venkatswamy should not have made such utterances.
Mr Reddy said that the time was ripe for the Congress MLAs and MPs to resign from their posts en masse for the cause of Telangana. He also observed, “We could achieve our decades long dream of Telangana State, provided we resign now.”
Commenting on the Council of Ministers in the State, he said that the incumbent team was worse than that of Mr Rosaiah. He also alleged that “unfit people” were accommodated in the Cabinet. (NSS)
