Hyderabad: The TDP Rajya Sabha member, Dr M V Mysoora Reddy, has said that his party would question the government on the farmers’ problems.
There was a meeting of the TD Parliamentary Party at the party chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu’s residence on Saturday night. The 2G Spectrum scam, the allegations of the now jailed former minister A Raja on the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh. and the Union Home Minister, Mr P Chidambaram, replies of the two, Karnataka Lok Ayukta report on Bellary and Obulapuram mining, Supreme Court judgment and other issues were discussed in the meeting. Mr Naidu has given suggestions on the issues to be raised during the ensuing Parliament session.
Briefing newsmen about the meeting, Mr Mysoora Reddy has said that all these issues would be raised in Parliament. He also said that his party would give a notice for a discussion on illegal mining in Andhra Pradesh. The CAG report on KG Basin Gas pricing, government’s failure in supplying fertilizers and seeds to farmers, non-implementation of the Minimum Support Price, black-marketing of fertilizers and seeds, declaration of Crop Holiday by farmers, farmers suicides and other agriculture related issues would be raised in both the Houses of Parliament, he said, adding that his party would demand inclusion of the Prime Minister also under the purview of Lok Pal. Even the selection of members should be transparent, he has demanded.
