Will consume poison if Centre says no to Telangana: KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that he would poison himself in the event of Centre takes an unfavourable decision on the statehood demand since the survival of Telangana people in the region would be very difficult.

Addressing media persons after participating as the chief guest at the Telangana Rashtra Students state and district committee meeting at TRS Bhavan, K Chandrasekhar Rao stated that he would consume poison if the Centre fails to take any favourable decision despite the intensified agitations for the separate Telangana state.

Stating that life would be miserable for the Telangana people, he alleged that the Seemandhra leaders would continue their looting in the event that Andhra Pradesh remains integrated.

“I cannot predict the misery the people will have to face if the Centre fails to announce a decision in favour of separate Telangana despite the ongoing intensified agitation. The state should be formed and formed now. If this is not done, formation of separate Telangana state is not possible any time,” KCR said.

He added that the people of the region will not be able to get any posts, not even attender’s posts. If such a difficult situation emerges, I will not live. I will definitely commit suicide by consuming poison,” the TRS chief asserted.

Responding to Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal’s statement that he would write off his entire properties if KCR is ready to stop statehood agitation, the TRS chief stated “I am not ready to accept his properties. If he falls on my feet, asking me to accept his properties and stop the separate Telangana agitation, I will not accept.

KCR continued, “I do not want Mr Rajagopal’s money. He has to take the fact into consideration that four crore people are agitating to fulfil the statehood demand. Why is he making such ridiculous statements.”

Slamming the state government going ahead with conducting of recruitment for police Sub-Inspectors on August 13 without deleting the clause F14 in the Presidential law, which facilitates placing of Hyderabad in 6th zone, he warned the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of serious consequences and announced a series of agitations.

KCR said that the members of the TRS Students’ Wing will stage rasta rokos and picket National highways on August 1, stage protest rallies and boycott classes on August 2, burn effigies of Director General of Police Dinesh Reddy and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on August 3, convene all-party round-table conference on August 4 and observe massive Telangana Bandh on August 5.

“Despite all this, if the government fails to postpone examinations and goes ahead it will have to face serious consequences,” KCR warned.

The TRS chief also sought the cooperation of students for employees strike announced to begin from August 17. (INN)
