Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Warangal Rajaiah on Wednesday stated that the Congress MLAs from Telangana will chalk out their future course on the resubmission of resignations after the arrival of Speaker Nadendla Manohar from United Kingdom on August 6.
Talking to media persons on Assembly premises, Mr Rajaiah denied the rumours which appeared in a section of the media that Congress leaders are bowing down to pressure tactics of High Command and were contemplating to go back on their decision.
The MLA stated that the Congress leaders are committed to resignations and there was no question of reversing their decision. “We are ready to submit resignations afresh once Speaker returns to the city from London,” the MLA stated.
“We have not submitted our resignations bowing down to pressure mounted on us by Telangana Political Joint Action committee,” he pointed out.
“Once the Speaker takes a decision on resignations, the Steering Committee of Telangana leaders will meet and chalk out the future course on the issue,” Mr Rajaiah said.
Condemning Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for seeking a fresh resolution in the Assembly over deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders, he alleged that statement was insulting to the elected representatives.
Stating that it was impossible to pass resolution afresh in the House, Mr Rajaiah demanded that the government postpone the SI recruitment examination until Centre takes concrete action. (INN)
