Hyderabad: Former Chief Minister and Congress senior leader Mr. K Rosaiah is leaving for New Delhi on Monday night for discussions with the party High Command.
According to information, he received a call from the party leadership to come to Delhi. He is likely to meet party President Ms. Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.
Rosaiah’s visit to the National Capital assumed importance in view of reports doing the rounds since some time that he would be entrusted with a gubernatorial position. When Rosaiah stepped down as the Chief Minister, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that his services would be utilized.
Being a senior leader of the party, Ms. Gandhi and other central leaders of Congress are also likely to discuss with him the dismal performance of the party in Kadapa by elections and the political situation in the state in general, and the Telangana issue in particular. It is presumed that the party High command might also elicit his views on the issue related to the appointment of a successor to Mr D Srinivas as the PCC President, and also the appointment of a Deputy Chief Minister in the State.
