Hyderabad, Feb.10 (NSS): The BJP State General Secretary, Mr N Ramachander Rao has demanded for immediate withdrawal of false cases filed against lawyers in connection with their agitation for Telangana Statehood.

Speaking at a media conference in State BJP Office here, Mr Ramachander Rao, along with Bar Council Chairman K Narsimha Reddy, said that the police had foisted false cases against the lawyers for extending support to the students, who were fighting for formation of separate Telanagana State. He strongly condemned the arrest of the lawyers.

Stating that the government was conducting Rachchabanda in Telangana region under the blanket of police security, he reminded that for chief Ministers’ Rachabanda at Molugu, which had 1500 population, five thousand policemen, three DSPs and one SP were deployed at the place. He also strongly objected the preventive custody of huge number of local people including Telangana activists and BJP workers.

The BJP leader alleged that undeclared emergency was being enforced in Telangana region. He demanded that the Government should stop Rachabanda and direct the officials to focus on implementation of the welfare schemes.

Referring to frequent attacks of ISI prisoners on jail staff in Cherlapally Jail, he suspected the MIM party support to the ISI prisoners. Hence, the Government was not taking any daring step to take action against ISI prisoners, he added.(NSS)
