“World No Tobacco Day” on SCR

Hyderabad: As a Part of observing “World No Tobacco Day”, South Central Railway organized a rally on “ NO Smoking” at Railway Sports Complex Grounds, Secunderabad today, which passed through SD Road. Rail Nilayam, Sanchalan Bhavan areas. The rally was flagged off by Mr R. Vijaya Mohan, Additional General Manager, SC. Railway. Employees from Medical department, Personnel Department, Railway Protection Force, Scouts & Guides and St. John Ambulance participated in the rally in large numbers holding placards and raising slogans against use of tobacco.

Later, a “Health Awareness Program” was conducted at Rail Nilayam Auditorium. Mr Vijaya Mohan was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Mr Vijaya Mahan exhorted the participants to desist from use of all kinds of tobacco products in order to set an healthy example to the present generation.

Dr. Radha Mohan Batwara, Chief Medical Director, SC Railway, delivered a comprehensive lecture on “Health is Wealth” with multi-media presentation. Mr Manoj Pande, Chief Personnel Officer, Mr B. Mohan, Chief Security Commissioner and Mr Vashishta Johri, Senior Deputy General Manager, SC Railway also spoke on the disastrous effects of tobacco products on human health, smoking, passive smoking and tips to quit smoking. SCR officers and employees were present in large number in the program.
