Hyderabad: The State committee of CPI (ML) New Democracy has stated that the suicide of Telangana youth Mandadi Yadi Reddy in the national capital on Wednesday morning should be considered as a murder by the UPA government as it created circumstances that drove the youth to resort to suicide.
In a statement here on Thursday, the New Democracy leaders, Mr K Govardhan and Mr P Suryam, stated that the suicide note left by the deceased proves the Centre’s culpability. They demanded that the Centre own moral responsibility for the youth’s suicide in the national capital.
They also pointed out that the Union ministers, Mr P Chidambaram, Mr Pranab Mukherji, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad and others were talking against the Telangana demand even after the Centre on December 9, 2009
declared that the process of carving out separate Telangana State had begun. The Union ministers’ recent statements that December 9, 2009 statement was made erroneously drove the despondent Telangana youth towards suicide. Apart from 600 youths committing suicides for the cause of Telangana in the region so far, a youth deciding to go to the national capital and resorting to the extreme step proves the Centre’s adamant and hostile attitude towards the Telangana issue.
The New Democracy leaders appealed to the students and youths not to kill themselves and realize that suicides are not a solution to the problem. Instead fight for the goal with confidence, they added.
