Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday alleged that the Congress party has hatched a conspiracy to finish the TDP and is using the separate Telangana statehood issue to do so.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Mr Ramakrishnudu alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Party In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram have hatched a conspiracy to decimate other parties in the state in the name of Telangana issue.

“The Congress party is delaying in taking a decision on the separate statehood demand in order to destroy the TDP and other parties on all fronts by sowing discord among its rival parties,” Mr Ramakrishnudu charged.

Reiterating that his party leaders from Seemandhra regions are committed to integrated state, the TDP leader said that the Centre has failed in taking a decision on Telangana and is holding the other parties in the state responsible for the lack of consensus on the issue.

“The TDP has already made its stand clear in its election manifesto and made a resolution in Mahanadu also,” Mr Ramakrishnudu asserted. He continued, “Why is the Centre always blaming our party and asking to disclose its stand on Telangana?” he stated.

Mr Ramakrishnudu further wondered if the Centre is delaying a decision on Telangana in order to prevent a crisis in the Congress party in the state.

When asked if would be heading to New Delhi to take part in the consultations, the TDP leader said there was no question of going to National capital. “The Centre has to take the decision as per the Constitution,” he said.(INN)
