Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam party politburo member and former minister, Mr Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, has described the senior Congress leader, Mr J C Diwakara Reddy, meeting the TDP supremo, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, for Samaikyandhra as “strange and mischievous”.
Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday, Mr Ramakrishnudu alleged that the Congress leader had deliberately called on Mr Chandrababu Naidu with an intention to mislead the people of the State. “Even as our party chief had declared many a time that Telangana and Seemandhra were like his two eyes, why should he (Mr Diwakar Reddy) meet our leader on pretext of Samaikyandhra?”, he asked and felt that such incidents would send wrong signals to the people of the State.
Mr Ramakrishnudu blamed the AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and the Union Home Minister, Mr P Chidambaram, being responsible for the prevailing situation in the State. He said the State was facing unprecedented political uncertainty and chaos as the Congress party was postponing its decision on the Telangana issue from time to time. “The UPA government at the Centre should make its stand clear on Telangana and decide the issue once and for all,” he added.
The former Speaker and finance minister alleged that the Congress party was keen on preventing discussion on burning public issues in the Assembly. “It is their agenda”, he added. Making it clear that the TDP legislators would not boycott the legislature, he said that their aim was to raise public issues in the Assembly and Council. (NSS)
