Telangana Nagara Samiti leader Nagam Janardana Reddy has said he had decided to undertake pada yatra only to reassure the people of his commitment to the Telangana cause.
Speaking in the meet the press programme organized by the Telangana Jounalists Forum here on Saturday, he said there was need for all the politician to unite to achieve Telangana state. He has alleged that the Telangana ministers were touching the feet of Semandhra leaders and urging them to create Telangana state.
He has urged the students and the youth to refrain from laying down their lives for the sake of Telangana. He said instead they should fight with the government and achieve Telangana.
Referring to the remarks by the Sri Krishna committee that the central government had asked it only to find suitable ways and not a solution to the Telangana issue, he has questioned the Telangana Congress leaders to comment on this. Nagam has alleged that ‘T’ leaders themselves were responsible for the delay in the resolution of the Telangana issue. Indirectly referring to TRS, Nagam said if one party says it would get 100 assembly and 16 Parliament seats, was it its intention that there should be no other party, he has questioned. He has reminded that apart from TRS, CPI, BJP and CPIML were also working to achieve Telangana. (NSS)
