Hyderabad: The Congress government in the State will shortly introduce yet another welfare scheme named “Indira Jana Prabha”. This scheme would be implemented by the State Rural Development Department.
Speaking to mediapersons in his chamber in the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Minister for Rural Development, Mr Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao, said that the new scheme will be implemented with 50 per cent funds from Employment Assurance Scheme and another 50 per cent from NABARD funds.
The minister said that under the Rs 1,600-crore scheme, irrigation facilities would be developed for 10 lakh acres belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. (NSS)
