Sharmila, daughter of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and her husband Anil Kumar, on Monday knocked the doors of the AP High Court to challenge the current regime’s decision to withdraw their security cover. They have challenged the action of the authorities in withdrawing their personal security.
The petitioners brought to the notice of the court that one plus one security was provided to each of them from 2004 in view of the threat perception. But the authorities withdrew their security from April 1 without any prior intimation, they pointed out.
Sharmila told the court that ever since her brother Y S Jaganmohan Reddy resigned from the Congress, the authorities started systematically targeting their family members. She urged the court to restore their personal security. two
Justice KC Bhanu of the AP High Court on Monday ordered notice in a writ petition challenging the action of the State Bank of India in refusing to recruit a person on the ground that he was suffering from haemophilia. The petitioner Banvat Sankar Naik was selected in April 2010 for a job with the bank in the clerical cadre but was rejected the opportunity in December on the ground that he was suffering from a blood disorder.
The petitioner contended that the said disorder was not within the prescribed alarming level and in any event, it was not a danger for him to carry out his clerical duties and as such the exclusion was discriminatory and arbitrary. The judge granted four weeks time to the bank to respond and justify its action. TNN
