Hyderabad: The Yudhvir Foundation will confer “Yudhvir Memorial Award” on the founder-chairman of Devnar Foundation for the Blind, Dr A Saibaba Goud, for his outstanding services to the visually challenged people at the K L N Prasad Auditorium, FAPCCI House, Red Hills, here on April 30 at 6.30 pm.

The Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development, Dr Daggubati Purandeshwari, will preside over the programme and confer the award on Dr Saibaba Goud.

This was announced by Mr Ashok Singh, president of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Linguistic Minority Cell at a press conference, here on Thursday. He also said that a commemorative event of late Yudhvir would be held at Gandhi Bhavan on April 30 in recognition of his pioneering services to the society.

Referring to the Kadapa by-polls, Mr Ashok Singh alleged that the elections are marked by huge flow of money as the YSR Congress Party has been trying to woo the voters by enticing with money. Objecting to the use of late YSR photos by the YSR Congress Party, he said that late chief minister was a true and dedicated leader of Congress party and maintained that they (YSR Congress) have no right to use either his name or photos in order to derive political mileage in the elections. He also found fault with the remarks like “Italian” in respect of the AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi by Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He demanded that Mr Jagan tender an unconditional apology to Ms Sonia Gandhi for his derogatory remarks against her.

Other leaders of the Linguistic Minority Cell, Mr Vishesh Sharma, Mr Afsar Ali, Mr Mohammed Shaukat Ali, Mr Prakash Dhaniwal, Mr Santhosh Singh, Mr Ali Pasha Hamdani and Mr Iliyaz, were also present. (NSS)
