176 Indian Hajj pilgrims dead during Hajj 2012

Seven devotees from Jammu and Kashmir were among 176 Indian pilgrims, who lost their lives during Hajj-2012 in the Holy cities of Makkah and Madhina. Official reports reaching here said four worshippers from Jammu and Kashmir recently died at Makkah after performing the pilgrimage. They were identified as Abdul Razak Bhat (71), Ghulam Hasan Bhat (64), Abdul Aziz Dar (66) and Najib Ahmad Batt (54). The highest number of 42 devotees from Uttar Pradesh lost their lives during the pilgrimage followed by Kerala 25, Maharashtra 18, West Bengal 17, Gujarat nine, Madhya Pradesh eight, Jammu and Kashmir seven, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh seven each, Assam and Bihar six each, Rajasthan and Jharkhand five each, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand four each, Lakshadweep and Haryana two each and Odisha and Punjab one each. More than 1.5 lakh pilgrims from India performed Hajj 2012 this year. UNI
