Ahmednagar: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Friday expressed confidence that UPA leaders would show maturity and accept the Janlokpal Bill as drafted by the civil society.
“There is still time and I am hopeful that they would show maturity,” Hazare said.
He expressed hope that Union Minister Kapil Sibal and others would change their stand over the Lokpal Bill.
Hazare said that he is ready to die for a stronger Lokpal Bill than surrendering before the rulers, “who are neglecting larger public interest and misusing the power handed over to them by people.”
Hazare was addressing a rally here. Later, while talking to PTI, Hazare said, “The common will of people is supreme in democracy and they are against the Lokpal Bill presented by the government in the Parliament.”
Hazare also said that his recent campaign over the Lokpal Bill in Rajasthan and north India received a good response.
After the function, Hazare left for Jalgaon for hearing of a case filed by former state minister Suresh Jain against him. Zeenews
