A state helicopter, ferrying Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh and two other BJP leaders, made an emergency landing at the airstrips of Jindal Steel and Power Limited at Raigarh, nearly 250 km from here, on Sunday afternoon, due to inclement weather, the police said. The aircraft was carrying Mr Singh, BJP Lok Sabha member Nand Kumar Sahai and a former party MLA from the state capital to Kansabel in Jaspur district for inauguration of a BJP workers’ training camp. The copter was barely 30 nautical miles from the destination, when it had to divert its route to fly back and land at the Raigarh airstrips following heavy rains at Pathlabgaon. Asian Age
