New Delhi, Feb 16 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Wednesday he hopes to break the deadlock in parliament over the opposition demand for a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the 2G spectrum scandal.
Asked whether he hoped parliament would function normally in the upcoming budget session as the opposition was adamant on a JPC, Manmohan Singh said: “We are making all efforts to deal with the issues. We hope for a solution.”
The prime minister was interacting with editors of television channels at his residence here.
The budget session starts Feb 21.
The winter session of parliament was virtually washed away by opposition protests demanding a JPC over 2G spectrum scandal related to irregularities in the allocation of second generation spectrum to telecom companies.
