The former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman, Suresh Kalmadi, now lodged at the Tihar jail here, was taken to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences on Thursday for an examination.
A doctor said Mr. Kalmadi was examined by Professor of Neurology M. V. Padma Srivastava and Rakesh Yadav from the Cardiology Department. A health review was conducted and the doctors advised Mr. Kalmadi to return next week for a follow-up.
Sixty-seven-year-old Mr. Kalmadi was taken to the Institute in the morning.
Speaking to news agencies after coming out of the hospital, Mr. Kalmadi said: “My mind, my brain is all okay. The visit was to medically examine the fitness of my heart. I had undergone an operation of the heart valve five years ago. Whatever the problem is, it is of the heart .” Hindu
