M S Lakshmi Of Air Gets Best Correspondent Award

Chandigarh: The All India Radio News Correspondent in Hyderabad, Ms M S Lakshmi, has been conferred the prestigious K L Sharma Best Correspondent Award for 2009.

The Punjab Governor, Mr Shivraj V Patil, presented the Akashavani Annual Awards 2009 for programming and providing technical excellence in Chandigarh, on Friday in the presence of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ms Ambika Soni.

Ms M S Lakshmi has been given the award for her extensive and elaborate news contribution on various issues pertaining to Andhra Pradesh at national level. Her news reports presented a balanced and objective picture about the happenings in the State on various occasions, including General Elections, Satyam Scam, during floods and on agitations both in favour of Telangana and unified State in the State.

She has contributed over 3,000 news reports to national and regional news bulletins broadcast from various stations throughout the country. Besides English and Telugu, her news reports were broadcast in Hindi bulletins along with her voice dispatches. (NSS)
