Popular Front of India organized a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on 6th December 2013 demanding reconstruction of Babri Masjid on its actual site. Hundreds of people from Delhi and surroundings sat in dharna for hours shouting slogans and holding placards. They demanded rebuilding the Masjid on the same site and also punishing the culprits exposed in the Librahans Commission report. They called the Allahabad High Court verdict unjust and put hope on the Supreme Court for justice.
EM AbdulRahiman, NEC member Popular Front of India, addressed the public and remarked that people used to ask Muslims to forget the issue but it was hardly possible them to ignore such a callous injustice of independent India. The day when Babri mosque was demolished there was no Government at all, at least in Ayodhya, and the rule of law hardly existed there, he pointed out. He felt sorry that the report of Librahan Commission was accepted without any ATR and demanded that all those who were found responsible for demolition of Babri Masjid by the commission should be taken to task. He went on to say that the country is waiting for the correction of the faith-laden judgment of the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court by the Supreme Courts. Rebuilding babri masjid is a ntional responsibility and returning back of secular credential’s of India. .
Advocate Sharfuddin (National Gen.Secy of Social Democratic Party of India) lamented on the rise of political anarchy in the country and quoted former President of India Shankar Dayal Sharma that demolition of Babri Masjid was nothing but a sheer ‘vandalism”. He referred how the blame of the partition of India and events of terrorism had been labeled against Muslims and the world had gradually come to know that Hindutva forces were actually responsible for such things. He demanded that the Babri Masjid should be erected on its historic site so that this kind of evil tendencies might be defeated.
Inamurrahaman (National Gen.SecyCampus Front of India) said “ The unfortunate incident of demolition of Babari Masjid, Ayodhya on 6 December, 1992 is tantamount to conspiracy to attack secular democratic ethos of the country. This attack followed by communal massacre across India alarmed the heightening threat on the history and culture of minorities which is integral to India’s glorious past. The demolition of three domes of the Babari Masjid amounted to the demolition of the republic. The demolition of the Babri Masjid is the gravest damage by the fascist forces in India. The verdict of Allahabad high court regarding this was no less than a pinch of salt on the wound. “
