PM, Sonia visiting Puttaparthi today

Puttaparthi: The Congress president and UPA chairperson, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, will arrive here at 4.30 pm on Tuesday to pay last respects to the mortal remains of Sri Satya Sai Baba.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, the Major Industries Minister, Dr J Geetha Reddy, said that the Prime Minister and the Congress president will be arriving here on Tuesday evening. Stating that some one lakh devotees had darshan of the body of Satya Sai Baba so far, Dr Geetha Reddy said that several lakhs of people will be pouring into the town for purpose of having a last glimpse of the Baba’s body and all arrangements have been made for the devotees.

The Revenue Minister, Mr N Raghuveera Reddy, who is camping in Puttaparthi, said that the devotees as well as VIPs will be allowed to have darshan of the mortal remains of Satya Sai Baba till 6 pm on Tuesday. He also said that several leaders from all over the world are expected to participate in the last journey of the Babaji. He also predicted that Puttaparthi will become a holy pilgrim center in the years to come. (NSS)
