New Delhi: With the party facing difficulties, several Congress leaders on Thursday made a strong plea to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to have more direct interaction with party workers.
A meeting convened by former Union Minister Aslam Sher Khan saw several speakers lamenting the “growing gap” between party workers and the leadership which they said is affecting the organisation.
JK Jain, who was CPP Secretary during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure as Congress chief, said that party workers are getting increasingly frustrated due to failure to give their feedback to the party high command.
Former CWC member Harikesh Bahadur as also senior leaders and former MPs like Virendra Kataria, RR Sahu and Kamal Chaudhary and Sunil Shastri spoke at the meeting.
The subject of the deliberations was “How to revitalise the Congress Party and inspire Congressmen to strengthen our political system, governance and national values”. Zeenews
