Union ministers Ambika Soni, Ashwani Kumar and AICC spokesperson Manish Tewari figure in the list of Punjab Pradesh Congress Coordination Committee that was finalised along with the lists of other state office-bearers by party president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.
The term of Punjab Assembly expires in February 2012 and Congress is trying hard to stage a come back in the SAD-BJP-ruled state. “Congress president Sonia Gandhi has approved the list of District Congress Committee presidents of Punjab, office-bearers and executive committee, coordination committee and manifesto committee of Punjab Pradesh Congress,” AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said.
The nine-member coordination committee for the state includes permanent invitees to Congress Working Committee Mohinder Singh Kaypee and Jagmeet Singh Brar and AICC secretary Praveen Rashtrapal while Manish Tewari and Ashwini Kumar also figure in the seven-member manifesto committee of the party. The new Pradesh Committee will have seven vice-presidents and eight general secretaries while the executive committee consists of 33 members. Asian Age
