Unlike most of the party colleagues, who had gone hammer and tongs against Kerala chief minister V.S. Achutanandan for his “Amul Baby” remark against AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday twitted he did not find the remark insulting.

“Don’t see why ‘Amul baby’=insult. Amul babies r fit, strong, focused on the future. Symbolise white revolution which brought milk to the masses,” the Congress star campaigner in Kerala, Mr Tharoor said on Twitter on Thursday .

The party, however, had slammed Mr Achutanandan for his comments saying the remarks were “insult to the youth of India”. AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi had said, “Such type of comments are an insult to the youth community of India.” Asian Age
