Vishwa Hindu Parishad president Ashok Singhal on Saturday denied that his organisation instigated supporters of Baba Ramdev to stage any kind of agitation in New Delhi or elsewhere.
“But we support the cause of Baba Ramdev, and our activists joined his protest demonstrations later,” he said at a press conference here.
Mr. Singhal said the VHP, along with sants from various Hindu Akharas, would persuade Ramdev to quit his fast. “The life of the yoga guru is very precious and should be saved at any cost,” he said.
The VHP leader warned the United Progressive Alliance government that it would face the consequences of the crackdown on the peaceful followers of Ramdev, and blamed UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for ordering the police action.
He said the VHP would take the fight against corruption and black money to its logical conclusion, just like it had fought and shown the way to the Ayodhya and Ram Setu movements in the past. Hindu
