Hyderabad: The Minister for Information & Public Relations, Ms D K Aruna, on Wednesday asserted that she never caused obstruction to the padayatra undertaken by her cabinet colleague, Mr Jupally Krishna Rao.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Ms Aruna said that she neither declared that she would obstruct padayatra undertaken by Mr Krishna Rao for the cause of Telangana nor did she do so ever. Alleging that Mr Krishna Rao had planned his padayatra with a personal agenda rather than party interests, Ms Aruna clarified that she was only questioning the motive behind the padayatra undertaken by Mr Jupally. She alleged that several party activists had attempted to stop his padayatra as Mr Jupally had undertaken it for personal gains. Stating that she would take decisions on strengthening the party in the district by consulting the party functionaries, she asked whether Mr Krishna Rao has any programme on the Telangana issue.
Replying to a query, the minister said that she would not respond to the resignation letter submitted by Mr Krishna Rao to the Governor.
Meanwhile, Ms Aruna along with the MP, Mr Vivek and Mr Mallu Ravi called on the senior Congress leader, Dr K Keshav Rao. They reportedly discussed about the party condition, Jupally’s resignation and other relevant issues with the senior leader.
