Hyderabad: The Viswa Hindu Parishad office situated at Kothi in the heart of the State capital, reportedly received threatening phone calls on Friday afternoon. Speaking in mixed Urdu and Hindi, the miscreants called the office through BSNL telephone twice in ten minutes and threatened to blow it up with bombs.

When the phone rang at 12.30 pm for the first time, a VHP activist Rajasekhar lifted the phone and cut the call as he was not able to understand Urdu and Hindi. When the second call came later, another activist lifted the phone and on receiving the bomb threat call, he alerted the police.

Immediately, the Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot and searched the premises thoroughly. During the search, all the shops around the VHP office downed the shutters as a precautionary measure.
