Pedamangalaram: Last rites of Yadi Reddy, a youth, who committed suicide in New Delhi for the cause of a separate Telangana State, was performed in his native village of Pedamangalaram in Ranga Reddy district on Friday.
The body of the student, who had sacrificed his life for Telangana was taken in a procession from his residence to the burial ground in which hundreds of persons participated and continuously chanted “Jai Telangana” and “Yadi Reddy Amar Hai”.
The TJAC Convenor, Prof. Kodandaram, TRS leaders, including Mr T. Harish Rao and Mr K. T. Rama Rao, the TDP senior leader, Mr T. Devender Goud and Balladeer Gaddar visited the body and paid glowing tributes to the martyr. They said his sacrifice would not go waste and a separate Telangana State would be achieved. His sacrifice has only strengthened the determination of the people of the region to continue relentless fight for the cause of a separate State, they observed.
The speakers also condemned action of the AP Bhavan authorities in New Delhi in not permitting the body of the student to be kept on the premises for the people to pay homage. Slogans against Union Minister Jaipal Reddy also rented the air on the occasion holding him responsible for the suicide of the student.
