At least 30 people have been killed and hundreds of others injured after Yemeni security forces attacked anti-government protesters in the capital, Sana’a.
Witnesses and medical sources say forces loyal to the embattled Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh opened fire on protesters near the Sana’a University following the Friday Prayers as the demonstrators tried to march out of the square where they had gathered.
The death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
Protesters are calling for an end to President Saleh’s three-decade long rule. Agencies
