Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa affirmed Wednesday his country’s full support for the Kingdom of Jordan aspired membership in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The remarks by the Bahraini King were made during talks with the visiting Jordanian Monarch King Abdullah II, held at the Rowdha Palace.
King Hamad welcomed and affirmed the full support for Jordan’s membership in the council, urged the Jordanian side to take speedy procedures to take part in the advancement of the council to achieve aspirations of peoples of the regional countries.
At the outset of the talks, both monarchs exchanged greetings on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan wishing the people of the two countries, the Arab and Islamic Nation greater prosperity.
Earlier, during his short visit, the Jordanian Monarch congratulated the Bahraini King on the success of the national dialogue, noting recommendations that resulted from the dialogue that in turn would reinforce the progress of development and reform in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Also during the meeting, the two kings reviewed the historic ties and brotherly relations bounding the two friendly countries.
The two leaders affirmed their keenness on reinforcing mutual cooperation to achieve the interests of both countries and their peoples.
Both sides also discussed recent developments on the regional level, affirming the continuation of coordination and cooperation between the two countries for serving common Arab issues.
