Bahrain is keen on preserving national unity, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, said last night. “Our prime objective is to look after the interest of the citizens,” HRH the Crown Prince said as he received at Riffa Palace US Central Command Commander James N Mattis.
He praised the Royal reform project for bringing about continuous growth and prosperity in the kingdom.
HRH the Crown Prince hailed the US for supporting Bahrain’s initiative to restore peace and stability, praising the strong ties bonding the two friendly countries.
He also stressed the kingdom’s keenness to further promote bilateral relations and co-operation mainly in the military and defence fields.
HRH the Crown Prince outlined Bahrain’s security and economic condition and ways of promoting them.
They also reviewed regional developments and the need to safeguard security and stability.
Commander Mattis praised Bahrain’s leadership for leading the development march for the past 10 years.
He also hailed the kingdom’s pioneering regional and international role.
Present at the meeting were Chief of Staff Major General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Court head Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Office director Brigadier Mounir Ahmed Al Sbei’i and US deputy chief of mission Stephanie Williams. Gulf Daily News
