Resident said that forces loyal to the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi launched artillery shells on the city of Misurata controlled by the opposition in the early hours on Saturday and cut off water supplies to the city.
He added that Gaddafi’s forces “bombed the town four or five shells in the early hours today. The situation is relatively calm now. But they are still on the outskirts of the town .. and water supplies cut off Misurata.”
Government officials deny Libyan attack opponents, saying they are committed to a cease-fire.
