The Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain said Tuesday that the warm contributions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah towards Bahrain, stem from his belief that the nations of Bahrain and Kuwait are one and inseparable.

Kuwait represented by His Highness the Amir, was and will always seek unifying stances and searching for coordination among opinions. “What has been achieved is a positive interaction with the initiative of the Crown Prince of Bahrain Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for national dialogue,” the Ambassador Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah said in a statement, quoted by Bahraini newspaper Al-Wasat.

Kuwait proceeded to dispatch a civil delegation under the framework of the initiative to aid the success of dialogue. The delegation visited Bahrain, holding meetings with the Bahraini Crown Prince and several opposition leaders, and “Kuwait was living every moment of the events of Bahrain,” he added.

The Bahraini developments began with peaceful protests, which resulted in the country’s King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa calling for a dialogue that groups all the sides involved, noted Sheikh Azzam.

“After this, escalations developed into a direction that affected safety and security, which compelled the country into imposing a state of national security.” On the latest developments surrounding Kuwaiti mediation and the next visit of the delegation, he said that in the mean time, safety and security had to be achieved, regarding this as “fundamental”, for “mind and wisdom to overcome the state of tension.” He added, that the Bahraini Crown Prince’s national dialogue initiative was the only means by which national unity – that benefits all – can be achieved in Bahrain, and that Kuwait would not stop pledging all of efforts for the success of this.
