Oman’s ruler sacks 12 ministers

Muscat, March 7 (IANS) Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Monday sacked 12 ministers, including the interior minister, in a bid to appease the protesters demanding political and economic reforms in the country, Xinhua reported.

The Gulf nation has witnessed protests demanding reforms and a clampdown on corruption.

On Saturday, the sultan fired two ministers who have been asked by protesters to quit over alleged corruption, days after he the replacement six cabinet ministers.
