History & Context
Ramoji Film City opened in 1996 as a film production complex created by Ramoji Rao. It was designed to bring sets, studios, accommodation and production facilities into one large campus.
It is not only a tourist attraction. Films, television shows, advertisements and digital productions continue to use its streets, gardens and controlled environments.
Visitors move between artificial cities, gardens, studio zones and themed spaces, often without realising how much ground they cover.
Treat it as a full-day outing. Arrive early, use internal transport and avoid trying to rush every attraction in a half-day visit.
